Triang started life as Lines Bros., and pre-war cars are known under this name.
Triang soon became an international pedal car company with their purchase of Cyclops in Australia and Thistle in Canada.
In 1960 Tri-ang took over the French brand GUI and from that moment the GUI DS carried the name Tri-ang GUI. Tri-ang also used the license plate to indicate year of production and type, e.g. 1961-DS-19
